Online Training Program Manager
The Program Manager will own a portfolio of projects related to the launch and ongoing development of an Online Training Business Unit. The Program Manager is an internal "advocate for the market". With a solid understanding of the market and clients, s/he fosters a variety of channels to develop and capture market knowledge, define market requirements, and work across departments to drive the evolution of an Online Training business Unit of a Gilfus Education Group client. This position is located at the client site just outside of Washington, DC. The Online Training Program Manager position is a vital member of our clients team, therefore we are only interested in candidates in the Washington, DC metro area.The Program Manager will coordinate work with a cross-functional team to manage the overall solution development, sales, marketing, operations and ongoing evolution. Specifically s/he will be responsible for:
- Representing the Business Unit’s Solutions to the defined market place, specifically unions and associations
- Research, define and recommend product and service strategy
- Understand the market needs, problems, and opportunities fully so that the solution defined fits the need of the target market
- Develop relationships with customers, client thought leaders and partners to help inform decision making
- Gather and analyze data from multiple internal channels including the sales, marketing, services and support organizations
- Foster a strong client focus, identifying requirements to solve their training needs through a variety of techniques including face to face interviews, surveys and client advisory groups
- Work with clients and across departments to ensure operational readiness
- Coordinate the organization’s activities (both initial launch and updates) with cross-functional stakeholders
- Lead the operational planning, new process design and implementation and reporting required for the Business Unit offerings
- Assist through the development cycle by reviewing and guiding product design specifications, user interface specifications, and test plans
- Support company, partner and industry events as needed
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree -- Master's in Business Administration (MBA) preferred -- with 8-10 years related experience in a relevant field
- 4-7 years experience in product management
- eLearning industry experience
- Strong project management, coordination and planning skills; and ability to excel in a fluid, cross-functional team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, communication, analytical and problem solving skills, and short term and long term planning skills.
- Ability to translate user need into requirements and online training features into user benefits
