1.     Position Summary

An experienced project manager and team lead that will be responsible for organizing and coordinating activities at new and existing accounts. The qualified candidate will have experience managing large projects and multiple staff and have seen a project through to completion. Must be able to understand various types of organizational change and be able to effect changes when necessary and be a solid communicator who enjoys working in a dynamic environment.

2.     Position Duties

The Project Manager will provide project management services to cross-functional project teams. Task requirements may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide senior level project management expertise for designated project engagements, addressing the full project lifecycle in accordance with documented project management processes.
  • Provide project management support for identified engagements which may be scoped to provide support at differing levels to include portfolio, program, or project.
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative environment within the team designed to build trust and confidence both within the team itself and associated stakeholders.
  • Mentor project teams to support compliance with documented processes and standards.
  • Ensure transparency on project status via execution of Project Governance (working groups, steering committee, change board, etc.) and Project Stakeholder Management
  • Create and manage  Project Plans including Communication Plans, Resourcing Plans, Transition Plans, Project Schedules and Readiness Assessments
  • Manage project change, assumptions, risks and issues including contingency and mitigation planning to ensure successful project delivery
  • Manage complex external and project inter-dependencies
  • Create status and budget management reports

3.     Qualifications

The Project Manager will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, expertise, and experience:

  • Proven effective project management capabilities
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to lead complex project teams
  • Proven leadership, including ability to lead cross-functional teams, to build consensus, identify and resolve issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate comfortably and at appropriate level of summary and detail across multiple levels
  • Flexibility to work comfortably with diverse teams and methodologies in order to negotiate and meet common objectives
  • Enthusiasm for project management and strong desire to grow within the profession
  • Networking and advanced facilitation skills; ability to design and lead project and non-project related sessions to gain consensus and meet varied objectives
  • Ability to adapt application of methodologies to the needs and complexity of projects
  • Strong business acumen to relate project scope to business outcomes
  • Critical thinking for concise and effective management reporting
  • Strong customer service orientation, including firm grasp of service methodology and approaches.
  • Ability to learn quickly and organize
  • Ability to build a trusted relationship with clients
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand and effect change in an organization

4.     Education and Experience

The Project Manager will have:

  • 5-10 years practical experience as a Project Manager, managing cross-functional projects in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate accountability for the successful implementation of at least 2 high profile projects with budget of $500k or greater
  • Excellent understanding of project management life cycle methodologies and systems development life cycle methodologies
  • Basic understanding of program management concepts and best practices would be an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency with MS Project, MS Office
  • Willingness to travel 25-50%.
