Gilfus Advisors Network Welcomes Experts in 2013

Congratulations to the following Advisors who have recently been accepted to join the Network!

Linda Briesacher – President, Focus-edu

Linda brings thirty years of industry experience, a deep understanding of sales management, and an extensive network of connections in the education space to the Gilfus Advisors Network. In her current role at Focus-edu, Linda utilizes her deep experience in the education vertical and educational technology companies to assist clients in finding and hiring top talent, with a particular focus on start-up organizations. Previously, Linda held various senior roles in sales and marketing at WebCT/Blackboard and Elluminate.

Krzysztof Kosmicki, Education Consultant

Krysztof launched a career in education as a Teach For America Corps Member. He taught 4th grade in New York, where he led 90% of students to score above average on the state reading test. Krzysztof subsequently continued working for Teach For America as a Program Director where he managed the implementation of teaching strategies and led pedagogical workshops for educators. He holds a Master’s degree in International History from the London School of Economics and Columbia University and a Master’s of Teaching from Pace University.

Rachel LaVoie, Instructional Designer

Rachel has a diverse set of experiences in the education field having served as a teacher, curriculum writer, and course designer, for both traditional and online instruction. Rachel taught French and English at International Schools located in Budapest and Geneva between 2002 and 2007. She returned to the States where she began designing and writing course curriculum for K-12 institutions. Rachel has gained a significant amount of experience in designing and editing course material for online environments. Rachel earned a Bachelor’s in Non-profit Administration from MBC&S in Baltimore.

Holly O’Hare, Senior Instructional Designer

Holly has over ten years’ experience in instructional design, K-12 curriculum development, web design, and train-the-trainer teaching. Her expertise in instructional design has allowed her to serve numerous corporations and institutions by designing and developing online courseware. Holly taught secondary Social Studies within the Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Annapolis, Maryland.  She holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science from West Virginia University and a Master’s in Education Technology from San Diego State University.
